Born in Japan, Mitsuko Ono engaged in research of biographic and other materials related to Toru Takemitsu after graduating in musicology from Kunitachi College of Music. Involved in editing publications on Takemitsu: Takemitsu Chosaku-shu (Collections of Takemitsu’s Essays, Shincho-sha), Complete Takemitsu Edition (5 volume book + CDs, Shogakukan), etc. Japanese translation of The Music of Toru Takemitsu by Peter Burt.

David Pacun is an Interum Associate Dean at the Ithaca College in New York. Dr. Pacun joined Ithaca College in 2000 after teaching at the University of Vermont and the University of Connecticut (Storrs). A graduate of Swarthmore College, he completed his graduate work at the University of Chicago, where he studied music analysis with Robert P. Morgan and music theory with Richard Cohn. His current research interests include the variation sets of Johannes Brahms, music theory pedagogy, and early 20th-century Japanese music, especially the works of Yamada Kosaku.
